## Notes

The three source commands and \big are base prefix commands with identical allowed_mode=math and argspec m:D. MathJax MakeBig uses the same scale within this tier, but the source TeX classes Open, Close, and Rel all collapse to Ord. The middle variant changes spacing in ordinary infix use; the left and right variants change spacing or Bin reclassification next to specific Op, Bin, or Rel atoms. The rule is Approximate over its full input domain. Other size tiers and \left/\right/\middle are out of scope.
